The sneaky reason why goal-setting systems are DESIGNED to fail

It was the second conference I’d ever attended.

I was with a client of mine and he knew the guy who was putting it on. So, about halfway through we got to go in the back and eat pizza with this guy and his staff. I honestly think he was trying to show off a bit.

But, he started talking mad shyte.

All the little things they were doing to manipulate the audience.

Hitting all their hot buttons…

Increasing their desire…

Priming them to buy…

Until the big finale where they’d pitch their expensive coaching program.

I’m an entrepreneur through and through… but, having people pay for a conference where the whole point is to sell them something even bigger? It made even my stomach turn.

Anyway, it reminds of the way some of these goal-setting systems are designed.

All the to-do apps…

Or the 37-step productivity systems.

I don’t know all these people… I haven’t been in the back room and heard what they have to say… but I know what I see. And, it sure seems like they’re *designed* to fail. So, you need more training — and more products to buy.

Keeping you on the hook…

Constantly coming back for more.

While they go in the back room and laugh at you.

Who knows?

But, I do know this…

If you spend any amount of time researching productivity… or spend any time around people who achieve at a high level, the problem with all these systems becomes obvious.

And, you know…

The people using them will never get over procrastination.

They’ll never tap into the deep inner motivation that exists in all of us.

They’ll never achieve the big goals they have in life.

And, they’ll never live the life they dream of.

Not using THOSE systems.

Because all of them ignore the harsh reality. The big lie that we all tell ourselves that keeps us unmotivated and procrastinating. Until you eradicate that lie from your brain — for good — no app or system can help you.

Now, I don’t know if these guys do this on purpose or not.

But, it’s there.

Anyway, that’s the whole reason I decided to create a course teaching my “LoFi” system for goal-setting and productivity. The simple 2-step system I learned in the military from the “elite of the elite” in the U.S. Army.

Because I see way too many people getting stuck…

And getting suckered by all this crap that isn’t going to help them.

John is a fantastic and patient tutor, who is not just able to share knowledge and communicate it very effectively – but able to support one in applying it. However, I believe that John has a very rare ability to go further than just imparting knowledge and showing one how to apply it. He is able to innately provoke one’s curiosity when explaining and demonstrating concepts, to the extent that one can explore and unravel their own learning journey. Thanks very much John!
