The interwebs is making you dumber, Sonny Boy

One of the reasons why I’ve all but tried to kill my YouTube channel. It’s become a cesspool off “broooo’s” flashing their rented Lambo’s outside their 20-room house (just for them) — and other various dumb s*** they do with their moolah.

It’s like watching a Real Housewives episode.

They just rounded up all the idiots…

And pointed a camera at them.

And people eat it up because it’s “entertaining”. Particularly egregious in the freelance/side hustle/online business space. There are always exceptions, but you check the trending… complete garbage for the most part.

But, here’s the insidious part.

Because of how our brains work…

Some 20-something nobody, who has no idea what real if is really about, can put together an “epic” montage, with his rented cars and houses or her fancy computer setup and then “bro” their way through some business lesson…

And the dimwits eat it up.

He could literally say anything.

And they’d eat it up because he “has a Lambo, bro”.

Of course, I know sound like the grumpy old man fumbling with this flip phone… haha… but, even if you don’t 100% agree with me, you have to admit… some of that s*** is pretty ridiculous.

And a LOT of people eat it up…

With almost zero analysis of “does this make any f***ing sense” or not.

Their analysis is: “Has Lambo, so everything he says is correct.”

It’s wacky.

But, here’s the real lesson.

The splash of cold water for YOU.

If you’re still still struggling to reach your income goals with your online business and your business education consists primarily of the bros on YouTube… well… 2+2=4, my friend. There’s a reason, brooooo!

They’ve got you bouncing from “one weird” trick” to another…

Chasing bright, shiny objects.

Running 100mph… in 100 different directions…

Going nowhere.

No judgment. I did the exact same s*** when I started. That’s why I see it so clearly. But, at some point, you’ve got to wake up and stop. And, I’ll tell you this… after 17 years of doing this… it’s boring fundamentals…

Not super awesome, amazing “tricks”…

That lead to *long-term* success.

Anyway, this is all why the *very first* lesson in my new Freelance Feast course is called: “The 80/20 of Freelancing”. It’s about cutting out all the bullsh** and zeroing in on the key 20% that will lead to 80% of your success…

And revenue.

Three core activities that will determine if you succeed or fail.

Do them well and it’s almost impossible to lose.

Fail to do them OR suck at them…

And no “one weird trick, brooooo” will save you.

In any case, not everybody will get what I’m spittin’ here. Some people are more concerned with being “entertained” than they are actually learning s*** that’ll make their life better. More about the “feelz” of it all than the logic.

For them, I can offer no help.

For the rest, you can get access to the Freelance Feast right now over on Skillshare. I’ve put it there to give everybody a crack at it regardless of your financial sitchy. It’s bundled inside my 11-hour, Let’s Talk Freelance mega-course.

The link is here: https://myjohn.us/feast

If you’re already a Skillshare member, that’ll take you right into the course. It’s Lesson #3. If you’re not a member, that’ll trigger a 14-day trial of Skillshare. Some people sign up to the trial, take the course and then cancel before the 14 days is up.

And, with that, you get it and never actually pay a penny.

And I don’t care because Skillshare pays me for watch time.

So, by all means… get in there, watch it. Watch it 7 times. Watch the whole 11-hour mega-course. S***, watch all 20+ course of mine over there. Squeeze every last drop out of the trial. It’s better for me if you do.

Anyway, ultimately up to you.

John

P.S. For my Patre-homies, you — as per use — already have access to “the feast”… along with all my other courses cuz you just get everything. You can access it here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/50847910

I started this 3 days ago, following John’s suggestions, and I gained the Upwork Rising Talent badge in less than 2 days. I have a call with my first potential client tomorrow. Thanks, John!

John is the man! I followed his steps and I am flooded with interviews in a week. I got into two Talent clouds. The very next day, I got an invitation from the talent specialists from Upwork and a lot more. I wanna shout out, he is the best in this. Thanks John for helping me out!

After viewing John’s course, I made an Upwork account and it got approved the same day. Amazingly, I got my first job the very same day, I couldn’t believe it, I thought maybe I got it by coincidence. Anyways I completed the job and received my first earnings. Then, after two days, I got another job and within a week I got 3 jobs and completed them successfully. All the things he says seem to be minute but have a very great impact on your freelancing career.

I’ve been in an existential crisis for the last week about what the heck I’m doing as a business owner. Even though I’ve been a business for about a year, I’m constantly trying to think of how to prune and refine services. This was very personable and enjoyable to watch. Usually, business courses like this are dry and hard to get through…. repeating the same things over and over again. This was a breath of fresh air. THANK YOU.

I’ve definitely learnt so much in 2.5 hours than I’d learn watching different videos online on Youtube and reading tons of articles on the web. John has a natural way of teaching, where he is passionately diving in the topics and he makes it very easy to grasp — someone who wants you to really start running your business well by learning about the right tools and implement them in your online business. I will definitely share with many of the people I know who have been struggling for so long, I did find my answers and I’m sure will do too.

I have been following John Morris for several years now. His instruction ranges from beginner to advanced, to CEO-level guidance. I have referred friends and clients to John, and have encouraged my own daughter to pay attention to what he says. All of his teachings create wealth for me (and happiness for my clients!) I can’t speak highly enough about John, his name is well known in my home.

John is a fantastic and patient tutor, who is not just able to share knowledge and communicate it very effectively – but able to support one in applying it. However, I believe that John has a very rare ability to go further than just imparting knowledge and showing one how to apply it. He is able to innately provoke one’s curiosity when explaining and demonstrating concepts, to the extent that one can explore and unravel their own learning journey. Thanks very much John!

John has been the most important person in my freelance career ever since I started. Without him, I would have taken 10 or 20 years more to reach the position I am at now (Level 2 seller on Fiverr and Top Rated on Upwork).
