I’m sure you noticed. 🙂
I didn’t show up in your inbox the last 4-5 days like usual. Hell, you’re probably in full-on withdrawal mode at this point! Johnny, Johnny! Wherefore art though, Johnny!? Haha. Well, my wife and I decided to take an impromptu mini-vacation.
We woke up in the morning and decided just to go.
I told my clients I’d be out for the next 4-5 days…
And off we went.
Now, this is the point where the usual cadre of Instagram “influencers” would rap on endlessly about #freelancelife and this is the freedom freelancing affords them… blah, blah, blah. Hell, previous versions of me probably would have.
But, here’s the real truth…
Early on in my freelancing career…
I wouldn’t DARE drop a “peace out” like that on my clients.
They don’t like it. And, back then, I was terrified of losing my clients. No way I’d rock the boat like that. And yeah… getting good at client acquisition helps. Because if a client really gets pissed off, you can tell ’em to hit the road, Jack(hole).
Because you’ve got clients on standby.
Ready to hire you.
But still… it’s painful. You gotta train a new client (haha) and get up to speed on their project(s), build the relationship, etc, etc. It’s much easier to maintain an existing client than to onboard a new one.
So, you still hesitate.
You don’t have that “f*** you” freedom…
Where you just do what you want… when you want.
THAT only happens when you “ascend” two levels up — the next evolutions of a knowledge vendor. And it’s only because I’ve done the work to make that leap that I’m able to just up and check out…
And couldn’t care less if a client gets pissed.
Because I could lose one tomorrow.
And I don’t need to replace them right away.
In fact, in some ways, dumping all my clients would probably be better for my business. But, I enjoy the work and I like the people I currently work with… so I keep them around. But, true freedom doesn’t come from freelancing.
It’s certainly better than a 9-5 J.O.B.
But, it’s not the destination.
If anything, it’s just the beginning.
There are much higher levels of leverage, freedom and yes… income… to be had. But, you have to keep moving. As Marcus Lemonis, the celebrity CEO of Camping World, says: “If you’re not evolving, you’re dying.”
And I see too many freelancers not evolving.
Stuck and stagnant at the freelance level.
Feeling like they’ve maxed out on what they can achieve…
Because they don’t know what to do next.
And that’s why I created the Ascension Matrix course. To show you… 1) how to get to the freelance level as quickly and painlessly as possible and then 2) evolve beyond it to true “f*** you” freedom.
It’s a true “life plan”…
If you’re someone who wants to make your living with your brain, not your body.
But, as I’ve said, the course isn’t quite finished.
Honestly, the trip I just took delayed its release a bit.
But, I will be releasing it on Skillshare soon.
So, stay tuned.
Later,
John
