I know you’ve been DYING to hear my take on politics.
So, let me go all Expensify on you for a second.
It’s a pretty riveting take.
Here it is:
I’m old enough to remember when the last election was the most important one in the history of the Republic. And the one before. In fact, this is the 6th election I could have voted in — and every one was the life or death.
Some of them of have affected me in ways…
But, for the most part… eh.
Even more, it’s complete nonsense when they say “every vote counts”. Not for the presidential election. Not where I live. Missouri is about as bright red as you can get. In 2016, Trump got 56% of the vote. Hillary got 37%.
He won by 500,000 votes.
Every vote counts.
Anyway, what’s my point?
Other than to scare off a few more hyperventilators. Look. Vote. Don’t vote. It’s really up to you. But, if you’re so obsessed with it that you think your life is going to get dramatically better or worse based on who gets elected…
Or, your success will be determined by who gets elected…
I think it’s self-fulfilling prophecy and nothing more.
I’m gonna do what I do regardless.
I’mma get mine regardless.
One mindset leads you to more responsibility and control over your own life — and one leads you further down the path of looking outside yourself for answers.
To quote some Buddhist monk somewhere, I assume:
“The answers lie within.”
Anyway, do with this what you will.
Maybe it adds to your life, maybe it doesn’t.
Maybe it makes you want to hit the unsubscribe button and leave me an angry message (that I’ll delete without reading) on your way out. If so, great! The better for both of us.
But, if you want to take control of your own destiny…
As a freelancer, learning how to crank up the perceived value of your services so high that clients trip over themselves to hire you and are willing to pay almost whatever you want to charge for them…
Is a REAL life-changer.
