It started happening a few years ago.
I’d hit a wall with my life, my business — everything really. I’d been freelancing for so long it had lost all its novelty. It wasn’t “fresh” and “exciting” to me anymore. And procrastination hit me HARD.
Most days… I’d be lucky to do anything before noon.
A lot of times, I’d just check out for the entire day.
Watching Netflix and eating junk food.
I ballooned up to over 300 pounds — and not “good” weight.
I drank too much and kinda just lived in a haze.
It was like I was dying a slow, agonizing death.
And I was powerless to stop it.
Of course, I was lucky enough to be in a position where it didn’t hurt me financially. I’d spent close to a decade building a “network” of sorts that kept my business and my income running on *close to* auto-pilot.
I WAS losing revenue…
But, it was dropping so slowly…
I probably could have rode it out for another 4-5 years.
(Something to be said here about what I teach related to content marketing and building out this kind of “network”… but that’s for another day.)
Of course, that all might sound kinda nice.
Especially, if you’ve spent the majority of your life working your fingers to the bone — no vacation, no days off, no breaks — trying to build a life for you and your family… like I had since I was 16 years old.
And, it was… at first.
It was a much-needed break.
But, you can only watch so many TV shows and movies.
Without a purpose in life…
Eventually *everything* loses its luster and becomes boring.
I felt stagnant… stuck.
With no real sense of how to break free.
Anyway, it was all that… that got me thinking outside the box. For example, up to that point in my life, I’d refused to read any kind of fiction book. I was too busy, too driven… I didn’t “have time” for that “nonsense”.
Sounds stupid, but that’s how I thought.
It was around this time the tiny house idea started percolating.
I started getting rid of all the unnecessary junk in my life.
I started listening to podcasts on minimalism.
And just a whole bunch of things I’d laughed at and mocked prior to that. I was trying to shake myself loose and get to the root of what was wrong with me. And, eventually, I did figure it out.
It has to do with purpose.
Or your life’s “mission”.
Your “destiny”.
Whatever word you want to use… it’s about digging down to your own essence and uncovering your mission in life. Money, fame, notoriety, etc… they’re all nice… but they’re empty if you’re not pursuing your life’s work.
And, I hadn’t been.
Anyway, this is one of the driving forces behind why I created my latest course: The Ascension Matrix. I can’t tell you what YOUR life purpose is. You have to do that… but I give you a road map for maximizing the freedom you garner FROM it.
I can show you how to leverage your core talent…
To drastically reduce the TIME you need to spend…
In order earn the income you desire.
And, that’s what the Ascension Matrix is. It’s that roadmap… to true “eff you” freedom. Doing what you want, when you want, how you want… all leveraged on the back of your calling in life.
Especially useful if you KNOW what that is for you…
But, think it’s “unrealistic” or “impractical”.
“I could never making a living doing THAT.”
The Ascension Matrix can show you how.
Anyway, as I always say… it’s up to you to figure out if that’s the kind of thing that would help you. Do your due diligence. But, I’ve put the course up on Skillshare to give you a risk-free way to check it out.
As a teacher on Skillshare…
