I know this might sound strange to you.
Especially if you’re and/or have really been struggling to get anything going on Upwork… you might think: “Fat cat client clients? How bout just A client?” I hear ya… BUT, I’m confident that if you start making the changes I’ve been rapping at you about, your results will improve.
I genuinely do because I’ve watched it happen so many times with so many students.
And, AS that happens…
You’re going to have the opposite problem. For example, when *I* made the changes and delivered my first few projects, I suddenly started getting hounded for all kinds of projects. Multiple per day, every day, for months on end.
It sounds nice, but it becomes a bit overwhelming.
That’s what I mean when I say: “When the world’s largest freelancing platform decides it likes you… watch out!” And so, you have to suddenly start becoming a lot more picky. You literally won’t be able to work on all the projects you get invited to.
What you want is for clients to self-select.
To scare off the “eh” projects…
And attract the high-end, fat cat clients.
So, those are the only projects you get invited to. It’s a helluva lot easier to “stomach” all the invites when every project is a nice fat one doing exactly what you love to do. But, to do that, you can’t simply “do what everyone else is doing”.
Especially with the higher-end clients.
They’re picky.
And it’s competitive.
Everybody and their brother’s, sister’s, dog’s, cousin’s uncle wants those jobs.
Anyway, after working with thousands of other Upworkers and analyzing the top freelancers on the site I figured out a scary, but effective, way to write your profile overview to attract only the highest of high end clients. When you’re ready to go big and only go after the big fish on Upwork, this is how to write your profile overview.
I’m not kidding… it’s not for the faint of heart.
That’s why only the best of the best on Upwork tend do it.
In any case, it’s something I teach in Episode #6 of my Let’s Talk Freelance course. If you’re an experienced Upworker looking to take the next step or you’re a newbie and want to after that highest-paying clients on the platform right off the bat, it may interest you.
Because the course is up on Skillshare, you can get it essentially free. That’s because, as a teacher there, I can get you an exclusive 1-month free trial of the platform (normal trial is just 7 days).
With that, you get full access to all 30,000+ courses on the site.
And, if you cancel before the month is up, you never pay a penny. So, basically free. Anyway, do with that what you will. I created a page explaining the course and the offer here: https://johnmorrisonline.com/ltf
Once you’re in, it’s Episode #6.
Later,
John
P.S. Patrons, you’ll find access info at that link, as well.
