Came across this on Twitter:
“But, but Joooohn…”
“There’s not any good clients on Upwork.”
“This. Does. Not. Compuuuuuuu—”
Ooooooor, maybe just maybe all the know-it-alls who rant and rave about how awful Upwork is are wrong. Naaaaaaaaah. Couldn’t be.
The truth about Upwork is what it’s always been.
There’s amazing clients that pay well and are awesome to work with.
And, there’s dirtbags.
It comes down to 2 things:
- Knowing how to FIND the good ones.
- APPEALING to the good ones so they hire you.
Figure those two things out and Upwork suddenly becomes this amazing client-getting machine that can send you so much work you have to shut it down so you don’t get overwhelmed.
Soooo… will you put in the work to learn this two things or no?
That’s what it comes down to.
But, that’s up to you.
I can’t tell you what to do.
Anyway, I teach both in my Freelancing on Upwork course. How to consistently find the best clients and pull out the key hiring criteria from their projects so you can write persuasive proposals.
And, you can learn it for nothing on SkillShare.

Do what you will with it.
