The next 10 years of hell

Everybody in the room was bawling. Not gonna lie… I was choked up a bit myself. It sounds stupid, but my wife was watching American Idol. It’s such a surreal thing to watch. Everybody social distanced and wearing masks. Judges unable to hug or get close to the singers. No shots of them all crowded backstage. It was a stark reminder of just how much everything has changed. It wasn’t that long ago that Coronavirus hit… but if feels like three lifetimes ago. Anyway, this dude comes on and start singing. And honestly, it wasn’t great. At first, I was

I can’t stop my daughter from making racist comments

Came across this absolute gem the other day: My 6-year-old daughter has beautiful blond hair and blue eyes. She gets compliments regularly from people on how pretty she is and basks in the attention. She attends a small private school and there is a little boy in her class who is black. He is sweet, well-mannered, and has a great sense of humor. His parents are lovely people. The problem is that over the last two years my daughter has been making comments about people’s skin, particularly addressed to this little boy. These comments are along the lines of, “I

How to commie-proof your life and business

Let me make sure my tin foil hat is on tight. Haha. Seriously, though, it’s a wild time we live in. Sometimes, I feel like I live in an alternate reality from some people. We see the exact same things and have two very different interpretations. Take Gina Carano, for example. You probably saw she got fired from Disney for a supposedly “anti-Semitic” tweet she sent out. Have you read it? If not, you should. I have a hard time understanding how that can be considered anti-Semitic. Wrong. A stretch comparing it to today’s political environment. Conspiratorial? I can see

Ward, you were a little hard on the Beaver

I may have been a bit harsh in my last post: These tech CEOs read a book on Steve Jobs and suddenly start prattling on about their vision as if they’re blessing you with some divine intervention from God himself… Haha. Maybe a touch harsh. Lezbehonest, though… it’s kinda true. Some of the guys have good ideas. Most don’t. Almost all of them, though, think their “vision” is all that matters and that the rest of us just “don’t see it” — and they’re “ordaining” us with their wisdom. Yeah okay. Maybe it’s cause I’ve worked with so many of

Why I just left a 7-figure tech company

You’ll probably think I’m crazy. But, I just walked away from maybe one of the more lucrative gigs I’ve had… at least in terms of future potential. I won’t name names but a 7-figure tech company that was just getting started — and whose product was on the cutting edge of what I think is coming in terms of online education. Even worse… they wanted to me to play a big role in it all. I’d come in like a banshee. Made it clear what I was capable of. And, had them imagining all the ways they could use me.

John is a fantastic and patient tutor, who is not just able to share knowledge and communicate it very effectively – but able to support one in applying it. However, I believe that John has a very rare ability to go further than just imparting knowledge and showing one how to apply it. He is able to innately provoke one’s curiosity when explaining and demonstrating concepts, to the extent that one can explore and unravel their own learning journey. Thanks very much John!
