I know… bahumbug.
But, I always find it interesting the importance people place on the New Year. As if it actually means a damn thing. That the number changing in a calendar system we completely made up has any kind of real significance.
Suddenly the virus will disappear.
The economy will surge.
You’ll easily shed 50 pounds.
The love of your life will knock on your door.
And all your hopes and dreams will magically come true.
Be honest… it’s weird.
It’s only significant… if you MAKE it significant.
But, how many New Year’s have come and gone with nothing changing? How many times have you set New Year’s resolutions that “this time” you’re going to stick to? How many times as this been “the year”?
I may be a cynic…
But, I’m also right.
At some point, you’ll get tired of it. But, here’s the thing… if you keep approaching New Year’s and your goal-setting, in general, the way you have been… can you really expect anything to change?
That’s why I’m doing this.
Because, for me, it WAS this time of year when I made the change. The one that actually made a difference. But, it wasn’t about just gutting it out harder or magically finding more willpower or being more committed.
I changed tactics.
I tried something new.
And that was the difference.
Anyway, I can only the lead the horse to water… it’s up to you to decide if this all applies to you what you’re going to do.
But, if you’re TIRED of constantly setting goals…
And resolutions…
And making big plans…
And dreaming big…
Only to have it always fall flat on its face.
Check out my new course, Your Best Year Yet. I will teach you a NEW way of thinking about your resolutions and goal-setting that just might make all the difference for you, too.
